AgriFutures

The AgriFuture Scholarship Programme is a bold initiative that aims to attract and support young people from racially marginalised backgrounds into the agricultural sector through a bespoke programme of mentoring, residential experiences and work placements.

In 2025, the groundbreaking five-year project was launched by NFU Education in partnership with the British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society.

2025 also saw the first AgriFuture Residential and AgriFuture Forum, taking the programme from strength to strength.

By inspiring and supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue careers in farming, they can tap into the exciting and diverse STEM career opportunities that the UK agricultural sector has to offer.

Whether they’re passionate about technology, the environment, sustainability, or food security, a career in agriculture allows the next generation to combine science and innovation while making a meaningful contribution to global issues.
