I’m Rounaq, a researcher, facilitator, and parent working in food, land use, and farming. My journey has taken me from studying agri-food systems in policy spaces to working alongside marginalised and minority communities who are building fairer, more alternative ways of growing and sharing food.
My work is about asking how we can create agri-food systems that are just, inclusive, and rooted in the voices of those most often left out of decision-making. I care deeply about equity, land justice, and making sure that knowledge - whether ancestral, lived, or academic - is valued equally.
Being part of Culture Roots Collective is a way for me to reconnect with these principles in practice, to learn from BPOC histories of resilience and care, and to contribute to building agri-food systems that nourish both people and the planet.
