Bhuvaneshwari Gupta (Bhuvana) is a public health nutritionist and food systems strategist with over 15 years of international experience spanning campaigning, policy, research and advocacy across India, Singapore and the UK. Her work focuses on transforming food systems to be healthier, more equitable and environmentally sustainable, bringing together public health, social justice, animal welfare and climate perspectives. Originally from India, Bhuvana has lived and worked in both India and Singapore before moving to the UK a few years ago. Having lived and worked across three countries, she brings an international perspective to food systems transformation while remaining grounded in the cultural knowledge, values and food traditions that shaped her in India. She holds two master's degrees, including an MSc in Nutrition for Global Health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Bhuvana is currently a Senior Global Campaigns Manager at Compassion in World Farming, where she leads international campaigns and advocacy initiatives that promote more sustainable and just food systems. Her work centres on influencing policy, building coalitions and supporting a move away from intensive farming systems. She also serves on the steering committee of the Justice Working Group within Root & Reason’s Food Systems Transformation programme, contributing to conversations on embedding equity and justice within food systems change. Passionate about connecting evidence with action, Bhuvana enjoys collaborating across disciplines, cultures and communities to help shape food systems that are regenerative, inclusive and fair—for people, animals and the planet.
